OWNEY STAMP

Bookcovers are an assignment that I especially enjoy. They embody the essence of the book in a shorthand designed to tell a story and get attention and produce a sale. Most books are sold on the strenghts of their covers. They are a great project. The newest work is the "A Lucky Dog" cover as well as the illustrations inside. My wife, Catherine, and I illustrated the book together. "Toasters 1909-1960" is a book I photographed and wrote. It's a look at a time in America when we made and invented great things from the humble breakfast burner to the bomb. "Sho-Nuf"is an unfinished book I've been writing for years about life in the South in the 50's. "Straight from the Horses Mouth"is a horse joke book...unfinished...horses are notoriously slow in compiling their thoughts it seems.
